Now, I would love to see Columbus County come together with one team...that's East Columbus, West Columbus, South Columbus, Wacamaw Academy & Whiteville. I think these senior players could compete against any county's team in the state. Right now, Columbus county has three or four different teams in the summer...Legion, Dixie Boys and several showcase teams. So, putting all the best seniors in this county on one team would be an unbelievable team! Let's make it happen!

Anglers, Megastars and Panthers are the first 3 teams interested in playing in this tournament. This should be a fun event.

After watching club teams from Wake Forest, Carolina, Clemson, NC State, Charlotte, Virginia Commonwealth this past fall, the largest difference between the college clubs and the showcase teams is the pitching. The club teams have the position talent to compete but run out of arms fairly quickly, especially in a tournament format where they may play 5-6 games in the weekend.

If you look at the scores from the college club fall classic this past November as an example, most of the games on day one were relatively low scoring (total runs less than 10) while on day two produced totals of 30+ scores as the norm.

The better players playing showcase ball have been playing guys older guys since their freshmen or sophomore days. Nothing new for them now that they are 17-18 years old.

Would be a fun tournament format.

Ok coach you got it. I will pick an NEW 6 allstar team to play your conference on Memorial weekend in a best 2 of 3 OR let's pick a team to go up against a team picked by Braves. Let's have some fun.

    2010 - 2011

What I would really love to do is have a week long camp , followed by a week end tourney.

Monday - Pro Style Try Out
Tuesday - Boot Camp Training - Show them things that they can take back with them.
Weds - Hitting fundementals / Batting Practice / Situational Hitting / Bunting
Thursday - Fielding fundementals / Outfield play / MIF play / Corner Inf Play / Catchers Instruction / Pitchers work on mechanics etc
Friday - Saturday - Players are put on teams and they play games all day Friday and Saturday.
Sunday - Break down the games and talk about positives and negatives. Have some college coaches come in and talk about - The importance of grades etc - the recruiting process - what coaches are looking for in players at each level etc etc.

Each player goes home with a detailed scouting report on each phase of their game. They are told what they do good and what they need to work on. And they are told what they can do to improve in these areas.

Instructors would be former college and current college players , former pro and current pro players , former hs and current hs coaches , and former college coaches.

Every Showcase Coach in the state would be in attendance to scout the players. And they would have the opportunity to address the players about their programs and the benefits of playing for them.

Professional Scouts woud be notified and Im sure several would want to attend.

Perfect Game's Advanced Scouts would be notified and I have no doubt Jerry Ford would have someone there.

Baseball Americas Prospect Plus would be notified and I have no doubt they would have someone there as well.

Mon thru Thursday schedule - 8am stretch - Dynamic. Lunch 11am to 1230 the day would end at 7pm.

    Friday - Saturday
Start games at 10am and play until 11pm.
    Sunday 10am end at 1pm

Now thats a camp!!! And that would be a blast!!! The more I talk about it the more I like this idea. Thats a full of week of some great baseball right there.
