I still haven't seen the actual game schedule, but I understand that games are planned for noon, 3 and 6 on each of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I heard that a team dropped out forcing lots of shuffling. I think that Myers Park, Hopewell, North Meck, Independence and a fifth team are still in, but I'm not sure about anything. I also hear that Myers Park is playing 4 times, at 6 on Tuesday , at noon and 6 on Wednesday, and at noon on Thursday. If anybody knows anything more, let us all know. I suspect the MECA 8 teams aren't all that keen on playing another game against each other, so I'm not sure how this will sort out.

I'll try to get more info tonight.

I can understand the reluctance of the Meca 8 teams to play each other so often. You face each other twice during the season, possibly during the conference tournament, throw in Jack Sink and the potential for a matchup in states and you could (maybe) have North Meck vs Indy or maybe an Indy vs Hopewell matchup 5 times this year.

Do not be surprised if the Meca 8 teams start pulling out of this tournament after this season.

The very reason we have gone to playing teams in the summer/fall that we don't play on a regular basis in the spring. In baseball you beat a team 4 out of 5 times and it is called successful. You sure wouldn't want that 1st loss in the playoffs just because a team has become too familier with you.

Hey DB .... we need to put something on todays game ....

Right now, in the new chat room, I have the colors set to North Meck blue .....

    How about this:
North wins, all your posts for a week have to be in Viking blue ....
Myers Park wins, I change the colors in the chat room for a week to Mustang Green ..... :D :D

Here's all I have been able to piece together at this point, but I'm not in the loop. I've tried to get a schedule without success. It may be that things are not completely settled yet.

The first game will be tonight at 6, and it will be North Meck against Myers Park. I understand that the same two teams will square off again at noon on Wednesday, followed by Parkwood and (I believe) either Independence or Hopewell at 3. Myers Park will play again at 6, I believe against the other of those two opponents. Myers Park will play again at noon Thursday, switching opponents with Parkwood, who will play the other team at 3. I'm not sure who will play at 6 Thursday, or even if there will be a game at 6:00 Thursday. If there is a 6:00 game, it will likely be North Meck against one of the other MECA 8 teams.

Sorry I don't have more. If I get something I'll post it. If the Indy/Hopewell/North posters know what times they play, maybe we can figure this all out.

It will be good to see Coach Mark Mennitt and Coach Aaron Hammers, in their second year together at Parkwood. I look forward to seeing their team and to catching up with them. Braves, you ran a great Q&A with Coach Mennitt a year or so ago, I'm going to try to bump that to the first page, if I can figure out how! :dunce:

In case you missed the offer Dodgerblue, I'm repeating it....

North Meck schedule (as best as I can determine):
We play twice at Jack Sink ... both games are against Myers Park. No other opponents :(

OK NC, you're on, but you'll have to teach me how to change the colors on my posts. I'll try to come visit you in the chat room if you're in there. :D
