As stated in the other thread...East Burke/Watauga has been called off because of snow and the plan is to play tomorrow. All the other games, as far as I know, is still scheduled to be played. Post your scores here...

    Freedom game

Freedom defeated a scrappy and physical Cougar team on Tuesday night to move to 14-1 and 4-0. Freedom actually trailed 16-15 and then led 25-20 before halftime. Something changed when the Pats came out for the 3rd quater, they scored 25 pts and held AC to 7. The scarry thing is Ford only had 9pts and 12 assists, but the rest of her teammates took charge and helped her out.

With McDowell winning at South in a close one the battle is set for friday in Marion.

    East Burke 53
    Watauga 42

Just when you thought things might be turning around a little, BANG, reality strikes again. This was a very ugly game from the very beginning. Way too many turnovers for each team. Watauga got out played and out coached again. Looked like there was no sense of a team. Everyone wanted to go 1 on 1 with their man and not play as a team. WHS had no answer for EB's press, which was not very good. Maybe they can get their first win tonight at Alexander, if they and their coach get their heads out of the sand!

Maybe I will go to Marion and see a real basketball game!

WHSHOOPSFAN, Do you have the box scores for this game? I din't know if maybe the Watauga newspaper posted them, our local paper doesn't. You are right this was an ugly game, way too many turnovers and too many missed layups by both teams.

WHSHOOPSFAN,I know you want your team to win but try to keep faith in them a little longer. I've only seen you guys play once this year at McDowell but I was impressed with the hustle of the team and I was also impressed with Coach Dixon. These girls will be much better by conference tourney time. In the mean time you all need to give them your full support.:luvu:
