Watauga shot 4-13 from the line.
East shot 12-24

Watauga outrebounded East 38-25
Watauga had 29 turnovers, East had 16.

Anna Romano had 11 points for WHS and Paris Brown had 9

Elizabeth Ross had 18 for East, while Natalie Baker and Chelsee Stephens both had 8.

Watauga led 14-12 after one, East led 28-19 at the half, 41-28 after 3 and won 53-42.

WORST BASKETBALL GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN. What I witnessed last night was incredibly painful. If both teams play like they did last night the rest of the year then neither will win another game period. East Burke played horrible. Turnovers, hacks, no rebounding, just a flat out ugly basketball game. Funny thing is, Watauga played worse than East. I don't know what offense WHS tried to run. Looked like a NBA game with the one on one play. I will comment some more later today before I leave for Alexander.

Could it be possible that the two day layoff had any effects on the game?

 

WHSHOOPSFAN, Thanks for the stats. I know it wasn't either teams best game of the season, but I didn't think it was that bad. Watauga will get their first conf. win tonight...Hang in there for the young ladies sake. I have been involved with teams that was in a slump, the best thing EVERYONE at Watauga can do is keep encouraging these young ladies, not discouraging them. Good luck tonight at Alexander Central.

 

Trust me I am hanging in there. I support these ladys through and through. I am not one calling for the coaches head or creating controversy. I just have to say that that was a ugly game, has nothing to do with records or situatins.
