Due to a scheduling conflict Enka will now being scrimmaging Franklin this Thursday to open up their million dollar field!

 

Looks like Coach Lance has one angry mob of parents over at Reynolds. Hate it for the girls. Sometimes knowing the rules goes a long way. According to their website games on 3/2, 3/8, and 3/9 were also cancelled in addition to the Enka matchup. Thankfully someone informed Coach Lance there is a limit on how many regular season games that can be played before he messed up the whole season for the team. When will schools take responsiblity and hire actual coaches for girls sports who know what they are doing?

 

This has really caused a stink up there, and also spoiled a great opportunity for some kids, not to mention the fact that tickets had already been purchased by Reynold supporters. Very strange happening!

 

The parents that purchased tickets are still very upset as they should be. Coach Lance was specifically told by the NCHSAA that if he participated in the scimmages last Saturday that Reynolds would not be allowed to play in the Finch event and he did it anyway. His arrogance cost the Reynolds softball team a great opportunity. But, Reynolds hired him knowing full well the reason he was fired from Erwin so the blame should go a little deeper into the administration. Reynolds does have a good football program though.

 

I have heard so many horror stories already this year that it makes you wonder how some of the stuff is allowed to happen. I'm not just talking about this incident, but several others. The question seems to become not just knowing what they are doing, but do they even care in some cases?

I'm guessing that the game at Enka is still on????? JF will be there. My girl like her a lot....

 

I agree about the horror stories. Seeing more and more girls turned off by high school softball. Many doing track in high school and travel softball in the summer. I don't believe the "coaches" or the administrations care in many instances which result in the hiring of "coaches" who do not know what they are doing.

We actually have a girl who is on the tennis team in High School and plays softball on the weekends in Georgia with her travel team. She feels like she has the best of both worlds. The tennis coach has no problem with her trying to improve her softball skills during his season of tennis...imagine that.

 

Yes the game is still on. Franklin High School will be taking Reynolds place.
