Jessica Inman/ Belmont Abbey

Jessica Inman of North Meck HS and the Double Diamonds recently signed with Belmont Abbey as a catcher. The Abbey has also signed a "hot" pitching prospect out of Iowa to help Kari and the rest of the pitching staff become even more effective. She has been clocked at 64 mph and has a great drop ball. Good luck girls and Coach Swanson. I understand the spring schedule is super tough with a couple D-2 power houses included.

 

Great News for Jessica........................the Abbey is lucky to have you and is projected 2004 Fall starting catcher(SR Jenn Van Gundy, scheduled to graduate)! I know coach is excite to have another solid recruit lined up early!

Kari, Amanda and Emily(FR,SO,JR) enjoyed pitching to her and playing her this past fall(and some for many years) can now say........ "we play together "!

The Abbey schedule, from other school that have posted theirs, include the likes of Regional powers: USC-Spartanburg, Lenior-Rhyne, Coker, Wingate, Winthrop and a few more. The Abbey is working harder than ever IMO and can hardly wait to the first week of Feburary!!

Note: we have got to get on Coach Swanson about his softball website????? First year, trying to settle in with family and his other responsiblities(VB coach too)prolly not a top priority Yet!

Hey Cf he needs to turn the website over to U. I know U will keep it up to date. Oh the Abbey is playing Kennesaw State at least two times this spring. As U know they are always in the top 5-10 schools in the country. It will be interesting.

thats the one i saw on their website (kennesaw state)but couldnt remember it last nite. They are always around the top 5 in the country, year in and year out!

We will truely be tested this year with those D2 powerhouse teams and i am sure Coach will have this years' squad ready for 2004. The outfield is the only question mark i have about the team and hope HiC and others step it up a notch.

I could do the BAC site but i prefer This Side of the Fence .....

Note: LBlue's DD has committed to Belmont Abbey College and i am happy for her and family. Dad can relax abit now............but not for long......emails, phone calls and networking has to be done, not to mention scheduling, workouts and profiles are DUE In! Contiune the hardwork..................and we will see ya soon!

Thanks and indeed it is Posted. Nice schedule with some excellent teams and tournaments on tap for 2004. We knew the staff was busy with it and all the stuff thats involved. Thanks for letting us know its up and running.
