Clayton hit three home runs Monday evening en route to an 11-5 win over Harnett Central.

Clayton will face Rocky Mount in the finals Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

what you guys think of that short HR distance in Right Center @ SJ's park?

Pat Smith can tell ya a lot about that park. He groomed it.

 

Creasy vs Moss tonight?

 

Nice field. SJ has done a great job keeping up with the way Smith likes things done. Center to RF is short and the wind seems to blow and help a ball hit to LF. A lot of homers going out of there the past three days.
Your pitching better be on it's game or watch out.

 

almost forgot

don't know if you guys played in the late afternoon, but the sun at SJ's field can be murder to RF, 2B, 1B players on defense.

but when I was playing there in late 70's you didn't dare mention this to coach.

 

Gryphons score first......

Collins Cuthrell doubles and scores the first run of game on a Benton Moss groundout in the 3rd inning....

After 3 innings Rocky Mount has 2 hits and Clayton has 1 hit....

Top of 4th Parker Helms singles and ends up scoring on a Moss base hit.....RM up 2-0

Clayton answers with a solo shot, sac fly and a 3 run homer to take a 5-2 lead.....(sorry I don't have kids names via cell contact)

Gryphons load the bases with no out but only score 1 run as Helms hits into a double play, Clayton leads 5-3....

Rocky Mount scores 2 runs and has the bases loaded so Clayton brings on another reliever 1 out......

Bunn in relief in the 6th to try and get the save......

Clayton adds two insurance runs in the home half of the 6th off Helms, Spencer Bell comes in and stops the bleeding....

Rocky Mount scores 2 in the 7th but leaves the bases loaded to end game and the Comets had the Gryphons only their second loss of the year.......Bunn had to be relieved so another pitcher got the save in the 7-5 victory.
