    BRCC

Blue Ridge lost 3 out of 4 to Florence. BRCC did not look sharp at all. Florence played good. BRCC had gone 3 weeks without a real game so it was like starting over. The rain outs cooled our bats off. Hope to get them going again this weekend against Rockingham.

Blue Ridge comm coll plays Guilford Tech Tuesday May 6 in Burlington, NC. This is a play-in game to see who gets in. They did not get to play each other during the season because of rain. I don't know time or place yet but I think it is at 4:00. I just got off of JUCO website and it just says time and location TBA. That's not much help but if anyone knows where these games will be played please post because the tournament may be over before I can find info on web. I don't think I will be able to make the game Tuesday but if I can make it I would like to know how to get to the games. The whole tournament is somewhere in Burlington.

    Schedule

I hate that Blue Ridge has not kept up with their schedule and web site!! My fault for taking a day off to go watch them play YH, and the game not happen... later looked at the YH site and the game was not on their schedule.

I really enjoyed years past of being able to read the play by play if I could not get to a game.

Go Bears, you will always have a special place in my heart!

I don't think our players knew for sure that we would not play Young Harris until game day. My son texted me at about 10:00 that morning to tell me that Young Harris would not be making the trip over to play us. I'm not sure when Young Harris took the game off of their schedule. I can say that we never really thought they would make the trip for some reason. I think this has happened in the past. They are only allowed to play so many games but they go ahead and schedule more games than they are allowed to play to make up games lost to weather. We did the same thing but we took our other extra games off of the schedule earlier.

We play today at 4:00 in conf tournament.

BRCC lost to Guilford Tech 11-2 yesterday in a play-in game for Region X tournament. Great job by Guilford in their 1st year.

BRCC fell apart at the end of the season and never seemed to recover from going 3 weeks without playing because of rainouts. No excuse just the facts. The players didn't do a good job IMO of staying focused during the down time. You can expect a little rust when they started back up but after 3 weekends of getting back into action there is no excuse for the way they played these last 15 or so games. They just couldn't put it back together. I don't mean to sound like I'm taking away from Guilford I'm not. What I'm talking about is the "way" BRCC played and not just the losing.

I hate to see BRCC end the season this way and it also ends my son's career there. He will be playing at Brevard College next year. It's sad to say goodbye to teammates and families but it is exciting to look forward to next year at Brevard. My son will be reuniting with about 6 or 7 old teammates from legion, AAU and All Stars days. We will miss or BRCC baseball family though.
