Anyone know how the playoffs work. I have searched the web looking for the playoff format. I know that they are being held in Swansboro this year, but other than location, information is hard to find.

    Junior Legion Playoffs
2 Jul - 7 Jul First Round of Area Playoffs (3 out of 5)
8 Jul - 13 Jul Second Round of playoffs (3 out of 5)
14 Jul - 17 Jul Third round of Playoffs (2 out of 3)
18 Jul Two Teams certified for State Tournment.
20 Jul State Tournment in Swansboro

Top two (2) Teams from each Conference plus 2 at-large Teams make Area III Playoffs.

If NOT able to complete a round, then 3/5 reverts to 2/3 and 2/3 reverts to winner of Game one.

First game of each Round will be at home of higher seed. If tie for seed, then coin flip.

Respect is correct, but that is Area III format, other areas maybe doing and starting differently.

    Areas in NC

My son is new to Jr. American Legion. I can't find anything about how the state is divided up into areas/regions/disticts/conference etc. Can someone please point me in the right direction or explain this?
    Thanks

First I need to know where you live and then I can direct you to an area.

We live near Waxhaw. My son is already on the Post 208 team, I would just like to understand the big picture of how the Jr American Legion teams are organized across the state.

Same as the senior teams regarding Area breakdown. State is divided into four pieces called Area's. Roughly TN line to just west of Statesville is Area IV from there to east of Burlinton Area III. Next, more rough could use a little help is Area I that extends east to around Goldsboro then Area II the remainder of the state to the coastline.

Conferences are determined by each Area Commissioner. Each Area has two teams represent them in the eight team state tournament just as the seniors. Just to put to rest a previous false statement, there will continue to be a Junior Legion state tournamentin the future.
