Oxford 12 West Johnston 2

Geoff Cash throws 6 inning complete game. 68 pitch game. Allowed 8 hits, but benefitted from 2 6-4-3 DP's. Chris Hill, Andy Richmond, Ty Breedlove, Trey Talley, Ryan Allen with 2 hits,and Patrick Whitt, Cory Hicks, and Will Bullock with a hit. West Johnston hit balls hard all night, just right at fielders.

16-4 overall, 5-1 conf.
Tough non-conference tomorrow against Rocky Mount.

 

Cary Bulls improve to 26-5 and 8-1 with a 4-2 win over visiting conference opponent, North Raleigh.

Bulls are off tomorrow night (and the weekend strangely enough) and play @ North Raleigh on Thursday night for another key conference match up.

Unbelievable game. W-S was down 19-9 in the bottom of 5th. Walk off ground double drives in three runs to win the game.

Rocky Mount 10 Oxford 5

Rocky Mount scores 2 in 6th and 4 in 7th to beat Oxford. Rocky Mount hit ball hard all night and kept the pressure on Oxford's defense. Defense did not respond well at all. RM does great job of extending innings on their on and Oxford helped out as well tonight. 5 unearned runs. Patrick Whitt pitched well in relief and kind of had to be sacrificial lamb due to conf. game completion at Leesville Rd. and non conf game immediately after completetion of 1st tonight. Whitt did an excellent job, but probably tired a bit. Carter Varnell (?) and Thomas Berry homered for RM with May getting the win. Joel Adcock homered for Oxford and had 2 hits. Chris Hill had 2 hits as well(2B). Cory Hicks (2B), Seth Lumpkins (2B), Dylan Newton, and Ryan Allen (2B) had the other hits.

Rocky Mount is very fundamentally sound. Fans are as good as you want meet. It's no wonder they compete for championships year in and year out. Look forward to playing some more in future.

 

Craziest game I have ever been involved in, in 30 years of coaching. Also, not the umpire's fought for our loss, but the worst officiated game both ways I may have experienced also. The umpire was wearing a SAC shirt, I certainly hope with that srike zone he doen't do college ball.I hope he bought that shirt at the Goodwill Store. Not that it matters but the final score was 21-20, you only needed 1 run more than us to win.

 

Junior Legion Playoff Details

I'm new to Legion Baseball. Is there a site that explains playoff system and schedule for Junior Legion teams? We're trying to cut roster down to 18 and need to know specifics. Thanks!

 

Bad night for the Cary Bulls. Blew a 6 run lead late @ North Raleigh tonight and fell 7-6. Hats off to North Raleigh for their intensity and never-say-die attitude.

Bulls drop to 26-6 and 8-2. Off this weekend.
