"I don't think Mooresville JV is going to lose this year"

Hold on there a minute...I have heard that due to scheduling quirks, the MSH JV Team has to go to East Rowan for a DH,back to NWC where they won in extra innings earlier, back to Lake Norman, back to South Rowan, and they have two left with both West Iredell and West Rowan whom they have yet to play....there is a lot of baseball left to be played....:xyxthumbs:

    I agree

The problem is, other than the NWC game, Mooresville really has not been tested. They have faced mediocre pitching so their bats have been very hot. That will change when they face better pitching, such as East Rowan or West Iredell. The pitching in JV baseball is not equal to the pitching in AAU or USSSA games. Guys killing the ball on JV are only average (at best) hitters in the other leagues. The other leagues can recruit and establish a good pitching staff. Because the schools have to make do, their staffs are usually watered down, and if a guy can pitch, he is usually on the varsity anyway.
Mooresville's defense is also suspect at times. Several starters are questionable.
There is a lot of baseball left.

    Bulldog1,

Nice to hear your comments however I have a couple of questions for you...

Have you been to any of the games to see the actual pitchers MHS has faced?

Do you know any of the players on the MHS JV teams personally?

I' m assuming you do not know these kids because to make statements like "these kids are probably average hitters at best in other leagues" makes me feel you don't have a clue.

So I'm going to give you a hint.

4 of these player's have won an AAU National Championship

12 of these players have won over 30 USSSA Major and AAU D1 tournament championships.....

You are correct, MHS JV has not even faced W Iredell or East Rowan so the best part of the season starts April 1st @ W. Iredell

I am not trying to slight Mooresville in any way. My statements are meant to be "general" statements about junior varsity baseball. I am sure you will agree that the players you refer to faced much better pitching in winning their numerous championships in AAu and USSSA than they have faced in JV baseball so far. I am in no way trying to discredit the accomplishments of the ball players in Mooresville or any other particular team. It's just that a team's win/lost record has to be measured against the competition. The other writer wants to hand Mooresville an undefeated season before they have even played half of their schedule. I only think it is a little premature.

The entire MSH Program has a lot of talent on both squads....there are three sophs on varsity and no freshmen on the varsity this year for the first time in a long time....I hope they do win all their games...I just think it is a bit early to put that type of pressure on them.....:N1yeeaah:
