    AC Reynolds (8-1, 5-0) clinches at least a tie for MAC Conference title, can win it outright next week vs North Buncombe.

    McDowell conludes the season with a 6-4 mark (2-4) in the MAC. For a program that has been really hurting in recent seasons, it's the 30-plus sophomores on this junior varsity team that has played hard this season. The decision was made to keep these kids down this season hoping that winning some games would help develop confidence and team chemistry.

    With more hard work in the upcoming off-season, its this group that will hopefully begin the process of turning around the McDowell football program.

    Bigdan, thanks for posting the McDowell scores this year, you have been a big help. As a MAC football fan it I sure hope this good JV year helps turn things around in McDowell County. Good luck in the future.
