Independence JV won another one and remains in first in the Meca 8 Conference. Chad Hartis pitched a good game and helped himself with some key hits.

    Big I's JV record

They have lost one conference game to North Meck which was a 4-2 loss the first time around. They beat North Meck 5-2 the second time.

Big upset. Lake Norman again jumps out to a big lead and keeps it this time behind the 3-hit pitching of Robby Gurley.

    Pitching:
WP - Robby Gurley (complete game, 1 ER)
    LP - Blocker

    Hitting:
LN - Clay Scott (3 hits)
MHS - Caleb Diggs (triple, 2 walks)

    Congrats Lake Norman!

Freshman Michael Blocker ? gets the call to start for the first place Blue Devils in an important conference game and gives up 8 runs in 1+ innings while freshman Gurley goes the distance for the Wildcats and shuts down Mooresville. The Wildcats beat Mooresville in every phase of the game and clearly looked like the team that was in first place instead of Mooresville. It does'nt get any easier for the Blue Devils as W. Rowan comes calling Friday night and a date at E. Rowan awaits next week.

Buy that boy a steak Lake Norman Fan!

The Hatley boys are very distant cousions not that it really matters.
These guys have played ball together for so many years i guess people assumed that they were closer kin than they really are. Both are solid ball players.
