JV Blue Devils are 4-0 to open the season after putting away the Raiders 6-3 in 7 innings. Fresh. Michael Blocker started and pitched 4 solid innings and soph. Justin West went the final 3. Soph. Hacksaw Harris was the offensive star as he drove in 3 runs and nailed one deep over the left center field fence in the 5th inning to cap a balanced scoring output for the Baby Devils.

Braves, you should see Hacksaw...... He's as strong as the "Tank" that posted the message.

....haha! I only WISH I could fit that bill guy's. I'm quite a bit older than these young guns (just a dad). Now we actually do have a "Tank" on our team and he is a real specimen. We also have a "Slim", "Wheels", "Sunshine" and "Video". Great baseball nicknames seem to stick with the kids from little league up through school ball. "Hacksaw" got his in pee-wee football though.

North Meck JV Beats Hopewell 11 to 3

The North Meck JV Vikings continued their winning ways by beating the Hopewell Titans by a score of 11 to 3. The young Vikings are undefeated and should once again contend for the conference crown. I am hoping details of the game can be supplied by some fans who attended the game at Hopewell High School.

    NM JV's beats Hopewell JV's

    Oldguycoach:

David McAuley pitched 4 strong innings and allowed just one run. Patrick Arturs pitched the next 2 innings allowing 3 runs and Bennett Hamilton closed out the 7th three up and down. North Meck scored 4 run in the first with Daniel Whitmire leading off the game with a stand up double over the LF head then Greg Allen knocked him in and Big Mac followed with a 2 run Double in the gap between CF and RF. Big Mac went 3 for 4, Greg Allen 2 for 4 and Daniel Whitmire 2 for 4. Once again solid defense and good pitching got the Vinking going along with the best team hitting game yet. If both North Meck teams keep playing like tonight, it could be a long season for the rest of the Mecca 8 conference.

    North Meck 11 - Hopewell 3

Take Hopewell's 8 errors away and the ball game would have been pretty close. North Meck's pitching on this night was definitely stronger as well as their defense. Winning pitcher for North Meck was McAuley, losing pitcher for Hopewell was Stanton.
