South Meck's jv team came to Hopewell ready to play. The Sabre pitching and defense were on target, and were accompanied by some key hits. The Hopewell Titans had some errors in the earlier innings, which SM capitalized on, to go up 9-0 lead by the 3rd or 4th inning. The young Titans didn't give up though and kept battling, plating some runs of their own and leaving a handful of runners stranded. The starting pitcher for SM (Shealy??) threw very well. Hopewell's relief pitcher, Johnathan Fisher, threw well also, keeping the SM batters offstride to prevent further runs.

    WP - Shealy (??)
    LP - Lane

Of note on the Watauga/North Forsyth game - this was the Watauga's relief pitcher's first regular season game in two years - he is battling cancer and we couldn't be more proud of him!

    Observer,

What a strong young man! What's the young man's name as Prov plays Watauga Fri and I'd like to be able to pick him out.

Both teams played well with strong pitching. Chris James with a solo home run for CCS.

    West Stanly/CCS

Charlotte Christian played one heck of game. I don't know the young men names that pitched yesterday. I believe their starter played for one of On Decks teams. He looked pretty good. He had good location and changed speeds well. Charlotte Christian is a solid team all way around. The shortstop impressed me with his range and soft hands. I was told and please correct me by all means if I am wrong that the original starting shortstop got pulled up to Varsity. If that is the case, wow. I believe from what I saw of the CCS JV team that CCS varsity will be set for the next few years. The James kid put the ball in the trees. Matt Large was the starting pitcher for West Stanly.
    Bradly Love pitched in relief.
    Matt Large 3 for 3
    Tanner Furr 2 for 3
