Luke Bard went 5 strong innings and Andy Clifford came in relief and looked sharp in the 6th.

Will Helms continued his mastery on the mound with his third straight commanding performance allowing only two hits over 5 1/3 innings. The Sabres scored 3 unearned runs in the first inning off several defensive miscues and only one hit as the Panthers were forced to come from behind for the first time this season. Cory Smith led the offense with a key hit leading off the third inning starting a 5-run rally and had a clutch run scoring base hit with two outs later in the game. Richie Shaffer closed the game out with 1 2/3 innings of strong relief allowing only one hit. Providence moves to 5-0 on the season.
