Kannapolis Vs. South Rowan

    This should be a great series.The best of seven series starts wednesday in Kannapolis.They should have some big gates when these two neighbors square off for the opportunity to go to the state championship.Look for Ward against Corby in game one at Kannapolis.This should be a really fun series for the fans.

    Let's hear some predictions before the first pitch is thrown.

    this should be a very interesting series.
    south beat kannapolis both times in league play, but then you look at the way kannapolis has been playing in the playoffs.
    deffinitly should be a good series.

    besides game 1, does anyone one know the probable starters for the other games

    Kannapolis will throw Ward,Dalton,and Goodman the 1st three games of the series.Ketner and Sherrill will start games 4 and 5 if necessary.

    South Rowan will pitch Morgan in game three.He threw 122 pitches sunday night and needs the full four days off before his next start.

    Hopefully the weather will give the teams a break.They only have 7 days to finish the best of seven series.The Area III championship begins wednesday 7-23-03.

    Not real sure, but if South coach Allen Wilson stays with his regular rotation it'll be: Aaron Corby - Wed., Daniel Moore - Thurs., Chris McDaniel - Fri., & Andrew Morgan - Sat.

    Since Morgan pitched Sun. in the final game of the Kernersville series he's not likely to pitch before Thurs., but that would mean rearanging the rotation. I'm not sure Coach Wilson would do that, but he could in hopes of getting Morgan in 2 games, but that would require the series to go at least 6 games.

    This should be a fun series to watch. Most of the kids have played either with or against each other for some time. Good luck to all the kids for a safe series.

    South Rowan scores 4 runs in bottom of the 9th to win.Controversial call with two outs in bottom of the 9th kept rally going.Pop up to 1st baseman right on the line is not caught as the runner(Corby) and 1st Baseman all but collide,but no interference is called.Tying run scores from third on this play and winning run scores from third on wild pitch on the next batter.

    South Rowan leads series 2-0.Game 3 at Kannapolis friday night 7:00PM.

    These two teams are as even as you can get.All three games have gone down to the last out.Game 4 at South Rowan Sunday night.

    1st game in the series that was not close.Mead's grand slam blows game wide open.Ward pitching on 3 days rest throws 5 innings to get the win.Corby also pitching on 3 days rest takes the loss.Stirewalt homers for South's only run.

    Series is now tied 2-2.Game 5 monday night 7:00PM at Kannapolis.
