Kannapolis can make the playoffs if they beat Stanly tonight and Wilkes County loses both games to Mooresville today AND Mocksville loses to Rowan tonight. All 3 teams would be 6-10 and the tiebreaker is head to head first with Wilkes sweeping Mocksville, Mocksville sweeping Kannapolis, and Wilkes and Kannapolis splitting their games. The next tiebreaker would be total runs scored in league games. If that tiebreaker occurs Mocksville and Kannapolis would go ahead of Wilkes. Alot of different scenarios left with only 1 day of baseball left. I guess we will know about 10:30 tonight. If Wilkes wins 1 of their games they go as the #7 seed and Mocksville would be the #8 seed and play Rowan County first round!!!

Well Kannapolis did beat Stanly last night, and Wilkes did lose 2 games to Mooresville,,,, however its being reported that based on using the first tiebreaker (head to head) between Kannapolis, Wilkes, and Mocksville,,, those 3 teams were:

    Wilkes 3-1
    Mocksville 2-2
Kannapolis 1-3 (which leaves Kann out)

Gotta give my Kannapolis boys credit though, because they seemed to come up on short end of breaks all summer and started last Friday with only 3 Wins for the season,,, yet they won 3 games over the weekend and actually led the 4th game in the 8th inning before eventually losing it in 9th. Had they won that 4th game, they were in the playoffs.

Nevertheless, once again overall the Area 3 South was very competitive from top to bottom,,, IMO Rowan was the only team who ever separated themselves from the pack. Good Luck to all the league teams as the next season (playoffs) now begin.
