Keeping Young Pitchers Healthy

    Unfortunately the Daddyballers have come up with a solution for this. They know they aren't supposed to teach kids a curveball but they really really want to win so...............they just call all the offspeed pitches "changeups." This way none of the kids are throwing curveballs.

    When you ask the boy to show you how he releases the pitch you see that he's on the side (or over the top) of the baseball and using a snapping motion but...........................it's a "changeup" so no need to worry! :thumbsdown:

    Very true...throwing breaking pitches at 12 has no bearing on becoming a hs pitcher and imo stunts the development of the 2 most important pitches, the fb and sc . Just like everything, it's all about priorities ...
