Keith Goodwin to NC Wesleyan!!!

Congrats to South Granville's Keith Goodwin. He has committed to NC Wesleyan to play baseball. Keith is a tremendous young man with a true love and passion for the game. Every year in hs Keith got better and better. He was all conference the last two years and hit in the lead off spot this season while playing SS. He is a fine addition to one of the top D3 programs in the nation. Way to go Keith! We are all very proud of you. Hard work and dedication does pay off.

As a hs coach these are the moments that you live for. To see one of your boys work so hard and be rewarded with the opportunity to continue their career while getting a college education. We are very proud of you Keith. See you at graduation tomorrow night.

Keith was a 4 year 100% guy in our off season strength and conditioning program. I pulled up my notes from his freshman year.

"Good body but physically weak. Does not run well. Arm is below average for his age. Has a long swing and tends to cast. Good hands , soft."

60 time 7.7

Now he is a 6'1 170 lb rock. Runs a 7.0 60 and can mash. He played SS this year for us and hit in the lead off spot. He had offers from other schools some very good D2's. But he really felt at home at NC Wesleyan.

"What you do when no one is watching will determine what you are capable of doing when everyone is watching."

Can you tell I am proud of this young man? You darn right I am!
He is a tremendous student as well.

 

Another Goodwin....Another Good One

Congrats....Keith mashed one in the bottom of the 7th last Sunday to win a game against the South Canes at Campbell.

 

I am so proud of Keith and happy for his wonderful parents!! Keith was a pleasure to coach when he played for me with the Copperheads. He is a hard worker and will succeed!! Best wishes KEITH!!
