I'm not a big gambler fan. I guess it has a little to do with the stuff in Texas, but I really wasn't a big fan before that. But with that being said, how impressive has he been in the playoffs. His stuff is nasty and he has pitched in some pretty cold games.

now, what was on his hand last night? it sure looked like pine tar, but i guess it could have been iodine from popping a blister?

i enjoyed watching the fire in his actions and the support he was giving his teamates on defense. he looked virtually unstoppable and had to be getting inside the hitters heads. i think he brought a little more excitment to the game. wouldn't hurt to see a little more in my opinion.

For Kenny Rogers, he discovered something that was missing in himself. Emotion!!! It's not for everybody, but it works for him. Here is a guy that was thought of as crafty (a word given to a pitcher with an average FB but can hit his spots). Now, the guy is hitting 94 (with movement) at times. His "letting it go", not corraling his emotions, has taken his game to a new level. One that I think he will keep for the rest of his career....and who said an old dog can't learn new tricks?!

I love it! I love how he has affected his teammates in a positive way. They have complete confidence that when Rogers takes the mound, they will win

You got to love a guy at his age that can go out there and give them the outings he has, while being the emotional leader. He is a true veteran that is taking the young guys under his wing.

It couldnt have been a clump of dirt as he told reporters it was in a press conference, but you gotta give the man some credit for his performance last night. Also, after he washed his hands before the 2nd inning, he came out and pitched another 7 scoreless innings. Whatever it was it didn't change the way he pitched after he washed it off.

See Keith Olbermans explanation of the substance on Rogers hand from the Dan Patrick show, it wasnt Pine Tar but an adhesive that is similar. I dont think it really made his ball cut or drop any harder, but he got a mental confidence from it.

Maybe I am too skeptical, but when 41 year old guys with block heads start throwing harder and pitching the best baseball of their careers, I just can't help wondering what they have in their diets. Just saying.
