Former FHS and Virginia Tech standout Kerri Gardin was seclected in the 3rd round of the WNBA draft by the Chicago Sky. She was the 34th overall pick in the draft. She averaged 12.7 points and 10 rebounds a game for the Hokies in her senior season. She was an excellent high school player and use to dominate the NW4A girls while at Freedom. She is the best player ever to come out of the NW4A in my lifetime. Congratulations to Kerri and her future career in the WNBA.
Chicago will play at Charlotte on May 20.

And the first person in NW4A history to play professional basketball (I think..). Quite an achievement!

Definite congrats on Kerri making the WNBA. Being raised in a rural setting, it's almost scary to say you've seen a WNBA player play when in High School. I agree with Titan90, she's definitely the best in my lifetime as well, and probably the best the NW4A has ever produced.

Her athleticism has been justly rewarded, she has that WNBA body that can match -up and defend several positions which is key with all the screens set in the Pro game. Best of luck to her and I know her family is proud.
Now that we've broke the Ice maybe future NW4A palyers can see this as a possibilty , if they work hard.
