Lady Blues and Belmont Abbey Clinic

The Lady Blues 18U and Belmont Abbey Softball teams will have a softball skills clinic Feb. 2, 2008 from 1:30 TILL 4:00pm at the Belmont Abbey softball complex. The softball complex is at the rear of the Belmont Abbey campus. **Clinic will focus on 8U to 12U but will consider older kids if enough interest.

The clinic will focus on the proper mechanics of fielding, throwing, catching, base-running, positioning on the field, and some basis hitting techiques. The players and coaches of both teams will work with the clinic attendees.

Kenny Terry, Head coach of the "Abbey" will assist with the clinic and will give an informal talk on preparing your player for a "career in softball". Kenny will cover the the many aspects of developing your skills to play the game and to improve those skills as U grow, as well as some inside recruiting information. Parents should plan to attend this discussion as it will be extremely helpful as your daughters enters HS and or begins the recruiting process.

Cost of the clinic will be $30 and includes a T-shirt. We hope to have some Belmont Abbey sports wear for sale, college permitting!

*** Due to calls and e-mails received, we will open the clinic up to all ages and then adjust drills to fit each age group. We will also travel to league locations or team locations for 25 or more kids!

Update

Have had a couple middle school teams commit to clinic, if U have plans to attend, just let me know, U can pay day of clinic. I want to limit to no more than 60 players.
Come enjoy 2 1/2 hours with young ladies that play the game and coaches that have been around the game for years. U will get enjoyment and some new and exciting things to work on when U leave.

Clinic laging!

It appears the Lady Blues/Belmont Abbey Clinic will not occur! I have only gotten a few confirmations of attendance and just do not want to move forward if there is not going to be interest enough to come forward so we can purchase the T-shirts etc. Several teams told me they wanted to attend but to date those teams have not called and confirmed numbers attending, etc.
This clinic was going to provide hands-on work with the kids from travel and a college coach, as well as college and travel ball players! Do U get that at many of the camps? My experience, NO!
Thanks for all that read the post and considered attending, I will leave it open till Monday and unless we get at least 25 kids we will cancel. LOL

Please note after careful consideration, I have decided to cancel the clinic at Belmont Abbey! There were just to many conflicts and issues to having it at this time and on campus! Sorry but the Blues will have a clinic before the spring is over at another location that works better for ALL!
