May 20, 2006 at UNCC for the third annual Lady Blues Showcase Day.

Last year we had 63 players and 11 coaches attend the event. I already have committments by several new schools this year and hope to make the event better than ever. We will again have seperate pitcher/catcher drills and allow those players to also participate in the position drills and hitting.
The cost is $100 per player which includes a t-shirt and your profile in a nice booklet handed to each coach that attends and sent to another dozen coaches that have requested to be sent booklets as they expect to be in the D-I playoffs during our showcase.
We will provide the coaches with breakfast and lunch, as well as a drawing for some prizes. The participation at this event grew by 30% last year over our first year so get your money in quickly along with your profile. Send to Rodney E Threatt PO Box 23690 Charlotte NC 28227. U can call 704-815-2103 or 704-562-0479 if U have questions.:woot: :woot:

There are many opinions regarding the right age to begin attending showcases. What is your opinion of the appropriate age/grade a player should be to attend?

The Showcase is open to HS freshman thru HS seniors that are unsigned. 2006-2009. If there was an exceptional eighth grader then we may consider allowing her in the showcase. D-I College coaches are usually at least a year ahead on their recruiting. Several of my Blues players started as Freshman attending these events and most ended up committing early in their senior year. RET:twocents:

Can you post a list of the schools that have attended in the past or are planning to attend this time? Thanks!

    Schools

Gardner-Webb, Wingate, Presbyterian, Limestone, Erskine, Belmont Abbey, Queens, UNCC, WCU, Elon, Mars Hill, Pfeffier, Catawba, Longwood, App. State, Montriet, Peace, Lees McRae, Mt Olive, Lenior Rhyne, UNC-W, UNC-P, St Andrews have all attended.
Invitees: UNC, NC State, USC, USC-Upstate, Coker, Fla State, Va Tech, Virginia, Charleston, Charleston Southern, Ga Tech, Tenn, Kentucky, Carson Newman, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgetown, JMU, Fla Atlantic, Tenn Tech, Lander, UTC,ETSU, North Fla., USC-Aiken, ECU, Bluefield State, Chowan, Maryland, Barry Univ., Newberry, Methodist, Greesboro College, Guilford College, UNC-G

Hope I didn't miss any but am almost sure I did. D-1 and D-11 playoffs can hinder our attendance but we average 12 or more coaches the past three years. Most all of these schools have been sent a profile book in the past when they were not able to attend. I will give U the coaches that promise to attend as we get closer to the time. Last year I had 20 tell me they would come and I believe 11 showed. Two did call to explain their absence.

Better get signed up. Just send me your check for $100 and your profile and we will get U in the showcase!
