Lady Lightning TEAM COMBAT

Lady Lightning TEAM COMBAT is in Texas this weekend at the Ronald McDonald Showcase.

The last count of college coaches is 207 and several are from the NC area. This group has 1 Verbally committed 08' Shay Sullivan, 1 unsigned(but coming) Heather Taylor and a strong group of 09' and 010'.

Good luck to all of the players, coaches, and, families that made the trip.

This is another great opportunity for the Lady Lightning Players to play on another National scale. What a great year of Showcase events and qualifiers. 08' is going to be AWESOME.

first day of play

The Lady Lightning/Team Combat had an excellent evening at the ball field beating the Louisiana Havoc 12 - 2. Playing 3 games tomorrow.

 

Good Start

Lady Lightning TEAM COMBAT came out strong tonight with victory over the LA Havoc.

With the fences at 240 feet the Lightning girls belted 2 balls just shy of the fence ( Nikki Edwards & Missy Wills) 1 that hit the middle of the CF fence (Missy Wills) and one that cleared the fence by a good 30ft (Haley Workman).

Sarah Forgacs had 3 singles, Heather Taylor had 2 hits( single & triple) and Haley Workman had 2 hits (HR & single) and 3 other players had hits in the game. Samantha Smith, Nikki Edwards, Jessica Farmer,and Jennifer Barnett. The Lightning girls recorded 10 hits in 5 innings

Nikki Edwards pitch 4 strong innings with 3 Ks and only 1 hit.

Great job by everyone. We will update tomorrows game.

The Lady Lightning continued to have a great weekend winning 2 more of their three games today. They started the day by losing 6 to 4 to the Florida Thunder Gold. Then came back and beat the TX Stars Black and the TX Nightmare Red. Girls are playing great and definitely showing that carolina girls can hold their own.
