I heard they are going to have a team this year but I haven't heard about who will coach the team. Anyone heard who will coach?

Why don't these guys go over and play for Mooresville and have 1 good team instead of 2 bad teams.

Obviously, lets face it new legion teams are often started simply to allow "more" kids the opportunity to play legion ball. And I agree if there were fewer teams around, you would have stronger legion teams where ONLY THE BEST players from the HS's could play; however, its hard to argue with having more teams and allowing more kids the opportunity to play.

This is an issue that is often discussed around legion circles,,,,,,,,, however, its only a Catch 22 if folks in your program have different priorities. Because while creating more teams and drawing from only 1-2 HS's may make it difficult to win,,,,,,,, however you are affording more boys the opportunity to play the game. So really, either way you don't lose IMO.

Johnston County is a great example. In past years 70's and 80's they had only 1 team. They competed very well in the playoffs.
Now there are 2 teams and there has been 3 teams as well. The teams now do not compete well in state playoffs.
Of course also a factor are the showcase teams.

I have heard the same thing but I don't believe Post 66 in Mooresville would allow them to have another senior legion team in the area. Right now Post 66 pulls from Lake Norman and Mooresville, some West Rowan. There was a very even mix of Lake Norman and Mooresville boys on the team. As for Jr. Legion that is a possibility. From what I understand also there is already a Lake Norman Legion Team that plays out of Bandy's High School. Don't know why they are called Lake Norman but Mooresville plays them every year early pre-season.
