Lake Norman Update

Hey, Fat Lady Hasn't Sung Yet!

I ran into the fat lady this morning at Denny's Restaurant. I asked her where she was headed, because you know, when she starts singing it's all over with. Well, I got some interesting information. She informed me that she had to be at Game 2 of the Topsail/South Stanly series (sorry, Topsail, looks like you're going to be swept)! Then, a State Trooper was going to rush her to N.C.State to sing at the conclusion of the second McMichael/Patton game. (not looking good for Patton there either)!
Then, she said was hanging around at Taco Bell until the conclusion of both the 4A & 3A game three's)! So, I beleive what she is saying is that Sanderson & Eastern Wayne are going to force a Game 3 in each series.
Sounds like a long day.

Now, rest assured, Lake Norman has had my Respect all season long!
They won a very tough North Piedmont Conference & survived the Western Bracket, which is not easy. I picked them to win the west, as soon as Ragsdale was upset. Lake Norman is a very worthy champion if they can finish off the 3A Championship this afternoon!

Hey, everybody knew Lomo was going to be tough in the first game!

 

True, but LN has not rolled out their secret weapon yet...

 

karl, in all honesty, I had Lake Norman winning the west EVEN WHILE Ragsdale was still alive, they are just a good quality consistent ballclub. I will be greatly surprised if Lake Norman don't play the exact same way today,,, good defense, good hitting 1-9 and very good pitching.

I'm sure EW will step it up, they are quality also, I still look for a great series, maybe still 3 games. However, the bad news for EW is that while much of eastern NC found out about Nick Lomascola last night, I'm afraid EW is going to find out today that LN's 2nd/3rd line pitching doesn't get much easier. Let me know what you think about Scottie Williams (only a junior), I really like him.

Banned In Boston!

The fat lady informed me this morning that the only 2 singing mistakes she has made in her career happened in Boston. In 1986, in game 6 of the Red Sox/Mets World Series, the fat lady started singing pre-maturely over the loud speaker when Mookie Wilson hit a slow roller to Boston 1st baseman Bill Buckner in the 10th inning. The singing distracted Buckner & the ball rolled between his legs into right field, allowing Ray Knight to score the winning run for the Mets. The Mets went on to take the series. In 2004, the fat lady once again started singing pre-maturely after the Red Sox lost the 1st 3 games of the American League Championship Series to the Yankees. Her reputation suffered when the Sox rallied & won 4 in a row to take the series & later on the World Championship. The fat lady stated that even though there were some great eating places in Boston, she was never going back to that city.

 

I believe the fat lady has made a few appearances at Wrigley, also.

I found the fat lady wondering on I440 and gave her an escort to Five County Field and have handcuffed her to the LKN dug-out! I will be stepping on her foot until she starts singing for LKN!!!
