Why shouldn't he? His teams have owned the city's football scene since the late 80s and Independence is easily the most successful program in NC the last 10 years. He says what he thinks...always has...always will. If you don't like it, line up on Friday night and beat him.

At the very end he talks about having a Richmond County championship sweatshirt hanging up in the locker room for motivation. Awesome.:cucumber:

I wish every coach was more like Tommy Knotts. The guy says whatever is on his mind...and the heck with PC.

I'd love to have him on here commenting every week about the games.

I'd be cocky and confident and everything else that comes along with coaching and being a part of Indy too if I was running a college recruiting style program down in Charlotte. He has done a good job though. There isn't a possible way of taking anything away from him. Just hate sometimes that his teams get the benefit of the doubt just like few years back with I believe it was N. Meck or E. Meck that got pulled off the bus for having an inelligible player? Yet Indy got to play all the way to state? They lost but they still had the experience that the other team didn't get to experience.

Double standards are evident everywhere in the world now. Half the reason this world and country is going further and further downhill.

Pretty sure it was South Meck.

But then Mallard Creek also knows all about being hit with the big stick when others get to slide by.

Yes, it was South Meck...a travesty to the student and his teammates. There certainly wasn't any attempt to circumvent the rules by the student and his family.

Indy doesn't have to recruit. Whatever school Tommy Knotts is coaching, players will flock to play for him.

That's the old story we'll stick with, but obviously people talk to people and kids talk to kids and you hear differently.
