    Same here...

We do it all of the time in blow outs but most of the time we have to let the umps know we are doing it or it won't get called. We had a game the other day where we told the field ump to watch for it, we jumped off three times (bases were loaded and we had all three jump) and he didn't call it. The plate ump finally caught on and called it.

Nobody (well I guess there are some) likes to humiliate the other team so we also try to make it 'look' like an accident even though the other coaches are always appreciative after the game so I guess we aren't as sly as we think... :lalala:

We have had it called twice this season at the Varsity level. This however was at the beginning of the season when we were still teaching our kids how to get the rocker-step through the motion off the bag.

If taught properly, there should never be a situation like that unless it is purposely done in "blow-out" situations. Even when I'm the coach of that team getting it handed to them, I would rather them not steal and let our girls dig themselves out instead of getting put out to get the game over with.

It's true though, blue doesn't look at it that much especially at first. They do take a little more eye to it when your in scoring position however.

    Get any advantage you can!...

....if your runners can leave early, do it! What makes you think that the other team won't do the same thing? for every 3 times you get away with leaving early, some other ump will call you out when you actually leave the base properly.
