The B team from the south end of Caldwell county is the Spartans. They are 9 and 0 so far. They have played the other team from caldwell only once and won a very close game. I don't know how this team has done or even if their still playing

    (6/18) Pineville vs. Mocksville

Pineville went on the road Saturday to face Mocksville in a double-header. What a great facility to play in!!

    Game 1:
    Pineville 8
    Mocksville 4

    Game 2:
    Pineville 6
    Mocksville 2

Pineville continues to hit the ball hard and play strong defense in the field.

    (6/20) Pineville vs. South Caldwell

South Caldwell had to throw one of their best against a very tough Pineville team!! In the end, South Caldwell plated the only run of the match-up.

This unfortunately was one of those games where below standard umpiring made a huge difference!!! Bad calls were evident throughout the entire game going against both sides. The 'BIG ONE' however, was in the bottom of the 7th with Pineville runners on 2nd and 3rd. A 'CLEAR' balk (in my opinion and pretty much every one else!!) on a fake throw to 3rd where the pitcher actually tapped his foot (what appeared to be well beyond 45) and then faked a throw to 3rd was not called!! Absolutely atrocius!!! But hey....that's how things go!!

The way both teams were playing, this game could have gone on all night (and should have!!)!!

    Pineville 0
    South Caldwell 1

:umno: Have to say i disagree with you on the balk call throwtheheat. Although i agree with the fact that the umpires were very inconsistent throughout the game, i believe they got this call right. It was a nice move that fooled the runner as well as the 3rd baseman. As the pitcher brought up his leg and looked home, 3rd base runner crossed over towards the plate, i don't believe there was a tap, nor did he cross 45. If 3rd baseman had covered, he was nailed......have to say the pineville team was much different than the first meeting of the season, they swung the bats well and came ready to play. Great pitching on both sides! :twocents:
