Ooops! forgot our Football question from above!

CHAAA-CHINGGG! football programs have the lions share of almost all athletic budgets at almost all "institutions of higher earning... err, learning". That equals more dollars for recruiting, training, facilities and scholarships. I have heard a D-I college coach say a kid was a perfect recruit because he played football and baseball at his school. The kid had a full ride in football (D-II) therefore costing the coach zero baseball money.

I remember when I started this website, Impact Baseball and On Deck just started their showcase programs. People across the state were complaining that their players were not being seen by college recruiters.

Now, we have TBR and other sites trying to do what very few sites did in the past.....promote the players and invite the HS and college coaches to participate. It's a simple explanation of the purpose of the board, but it is the most important. I can not count how many college coaches have told me they received a name to check out based on something they read here.

If this is not something that you are interested in (promoting the players), you are in the wrong place, because everything else is secondary.

This is an amazing thread and for those that know me realize I could only be quiet for so long! hahaha I suppose my problem with some of the elite programs and leagues is that they typically have nothing invested in the player through the years. It takes a lot of time and effort to teach, I believe Red Sox called them "marginal players" only to see them leave for the so called big time.

I suppose it goes back to the old saying "there's no limit to what one can accomplish if one doesn't mind who get's the credit."

Just an old guys opinion which in the end means nothing.

Tell those seniors there are a couple of legion teams in Randolph and Montgomery Counties that could use some Seniors heading to college......

Montgomery County Coach is Brett Kennedy from Star
Randolph County Coach is Ronnie Pugh from Asheboro
