$250.00 per player to play for Post 58 in Nash County. It's probably different post to post.

Braves, I do know of 2 Posts in the Winston Salem area where the kids had to pay to help support the team (in the summer of 2005...don't know if that was true this season).

But the only free baseball my son ever played was for Lexington Post 8. They feed the kids before & after games & even give the parents free passes to the game. I thanked Jim Lippard & company 10,000 times for that!!

I guess if you are trying to start up or in some cases continue a Post program, that would be the situation, but from the Posts I'm familiar with in Charlotte (don't know about Newell), they are free and they give a per diem on road games.

    post 29

Caldwell County Post 29 do not charge their kids. Post 29 also feeds them after the home games and road games. They travel first class in a tour bus. Post 29 has fund raisers, the gate, the concession stand that brings money to the program. Coaches get paid but how much is confidential.

    legion question.

What legion team would my son play for if he attends Vance High. I asked the athletic director and he had no clue. Thanks

It's more of a question of where you live vs what school, but my best guess woud be the Huntersville legion team.

I was an outside accountant for an American Legion post for 2 years. I paid the bills, did payroll, and did the general ledger as well as filing the necessary forms with the state and with the IRS. We did pay our coaches as well as pay for pre-game meals. We also paid for all transportation. One season we were in the black and one season we were in the red.
