Legion Playoffs 1st week conflict w/ State Games?

Is anyone aware of the dates for the NC Legion playoffs. I was informed by a legion coach this week that the state games baseball dates and the 1st week of the NC Legion playoffs occured at the same time.

If this is the case I am concerned that some, (many), high school players will be forced to make a decision between their Legion programs and the most valuable exposure one can get in North Carolina, the state games.

What thoughts do the rest of you have concerning this.

STATE GAMES IS GREAT EXPOSURE FOR A WEEKEND. WHY THROW AWAY A WHOLE SEASON FOR 1 WEEKEND. FOR THE PEOPLE THAT DON'T KNOW AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL STARTED THE STATE GAMES AS AN ALL STAR EVENT. THIS IS A TOUGH CHOICE FOR SOME PLAYERS.

 

Where legion does not allow participation in outside "showcase events" once the state playoffs have begun, the State Games are excepted from the rule.

This is becoming an "urban legend".

 

This is a tough choice for the players involved, each has to consider his own situation. On one hand should he be devoted to his legion team or, should he think of himself and attend the best showcase in the state.
As a parent that has always taught his son the importantance of team unity, it's a difficult choice for me as well.
But, when i consider all the options on what is best for his future the State Games win out
I realize some coaches don't allow players to play legion and attend the games. I also wonder about their motives. If a legion team is weak enough that they can't absorb the loss of a couple of players for a couple games they're in trouble anyway.
So, IHMO there's no reason why a player shouldn't be allowed to do both.

I was informed last night that the legion playoffs were going to be moved a few days to eliminate the conflict.
