State Legion Tourney scores...

After losing their very first game of the tournament, Pineville continues their impressive comeback with wins over North Raleigh (6-5) and Eastern Randolph (12-7) on Monday 8/4.

Pineville now plays Cherryville for the state championship on Tuesday 8/5 at 10am; however, Pineville would need to beat Cherryville twice.

 

I believe I heard the Gastonia radio station say this morning that the game would start at 2:00, but I have also heard 1:00, so not sure about the start time.

 

Halton, you may want to check your local radio station again because I was told they were going with a 10am start just in case they needed a 2nd game. They might be playing as we speak. Tournament officials are obviously trying to get finished before the afternoon thunderstorms roll in.

 

Congrats to Cherryville, a 7-3 winner over Pineville for the state championship. Good luck in Rock Hill.
