Way to go Cherryville. A fifth state legion championship for a small community is quite a feat!

I heard that Mason gave consideration to playing for the Gastonia Grizzlies wooden bat team, but he wanted to both hit and pitch, and they just wanted him to pitch. Just what I heard.

Congrats to Cherryville on winning the 2003 state championship.Hope to be able to get down to Rock Hill and see them compete in the regionals.

Congrats to all teams that earned their way to the state tournament this year. They all had excellent seasons.

Best of luck to Cherryville next week!

Daniel is playing for Team USA (I think) and was not on the post season roster for that reason. He could not rejoin the team.

I believe that the "third baseman incident" that everyone keeps refering to was with the player, Rob Wilson, and not Daniel Bard anyway but correct me, please, if I am mistaken?!?

Like Gonzo, stated, Daniel Bard left the Pineville Legion team mid-way of their season to play with Team USA?!?

Daniel did play for Team USA and i might add, he played very well.
He is home now resting after a very, very long season.

I was kidding about him participating, but since he was home, I thought he would have been a nice motivator

Fact: Bard was on Team USA (Jr) as an American Legion representative
Fact: other Legion representatives on Team USA rejoined their squads after returning from the carribean
Fact: Bard was spectating @ the Area IV championship between c'ville & p'ville @ Butler HS
Fact: the family and coaches had been in conversation off and on about rejoining
Fact: the p'ville 3rd baseman re-injured his ankle precipitating a coach-player "disagreement" after the c'ville Area IV championship game

end of facts, any comments or thoughts linking the facts are speculation unless coming from the individuals themselves

The only way Daniel could have rejoined the squad was to have been listed on the post season roster. Pineville had their post season roster sent in without Daniel's name on it.
