Did a little looking for Las Vegas information it appears it is basically Bishop Gorman High Schools summer team. This guys went like 41-3 and won the state hs title also. You can go to Bishop Gorman baseball site and then link to Titans orange (Legion team).

Dang, 44 high school games, plus 80 legion games, basically same group of players, same pitching staff,,,,, thats a semi-pro team.

Anyone know if Jeff Malm is playing for the Vegas legion team? Malm is one of the top 2009 players in the entire country and will be a sure-fire first round draft pick next summer.

I am convinced that it just depends on what area of the country you live in. Look at it this way, in my county alone, there are at least 2 different youth baseball leagues that kids can play (Little League or Dixie Youth),,,, so who's to say who is right?

I know this much, obviously these 8 different communities from all over the country who are coming to Shelby to play in this tournament this week all had a pretty good group of boys play legion ball this summer.

Btw, if you look on the national website, a team from Hawaii was in the Western Area finals, so they must have had a pretty decent legion team as well.

Looks like you don't want to be trailing a close game heading into the last inning or two with Malm coming out of the pen.
