Even without a local team playing in this thing, looks like Shelby still doing good at the gate with this tourney from a $$$ standpoint,,,, as there were 4,734 paid attendance at Sumter game last night, after 3700 numbers at morning games.

KtownRocks, are you and TP going tonight?

South Richmond,Va beats Jonesboro,Ark 13-8, to eliminate the Arkansas team, and Virginia moves on to play tomorrow against either Nevada or SC team.

EastofRaleigh, obviously all the teams have been very very good. LasVegas jumps out to be my favorite, but I'm not sure if not because I know they've won some 72 ballgames this year. Then you have SC and Va teams who have only 3-5 losses all year, so those cats know how to win too. The team from Washington is playing very good ball so it wouldn't surprise me to see them come all the way back to the finals and possibly win it. Too many individual players to name who stand out, obviously at this level they're all good, the rosters and boxscores for each individual ballgame are on the national website if you go to this page, then scroll all they way down to bottom, they have all the teams involved with all their games since regional play began. www.baseball.legion.org/2008/html/lgsumm.htm

The one thing I've been impressed with is what (I believe it was you and I) who were discussing not having a local team in this thing, they have averaged about 4,000 fans/game, no matter if it was a morning game or primetime. They announced 4,900+ at Va/Ark game which was the 2nd game today. Look for even better attendance at tonight's Nev/SC winner's bracket final.

If you haven't been to one of these, need to make a trip either Monday or Tuesday,,,, the food, baseball and atmosphere is simply worth the drive. May be YEARS before a tournament of this caliber reaches this area of the country again.
