    Wow, I've been waiting to post this. Leighton is one of my favorite players because he is not only talented, but equally he is a high character person. Leighton is one of the most underrated players in the state, simply for waiting until his last year to get exposure. As it turned out, Winthrop recognized the talent that Leighton has and scooped up a winner!

    The East Meck-CBC SS is going to one of the best baseball programs in the country. This hard hitting, strong arm infielder will challenge for a starting role when he hits the campus.

    Congratulations to Leighton, but also a special congratulation to his parents, Amy and Kevin for raising such a fine young man. He is a leader!

    Congratulations to Leighton Daniels

    Winthrop has just signed one of the top players and around. As Jay Bilas used to say, "His talent is surpassed only by his will and his talent is considerable." He's helped put East Meck baseball back on the map and the Quiet Assassin is going to tear up the Big South before he's done. He will also be one of the best student-athletes the Winthrop Eagles have ever had. Way to go Leighton and congratulations to the whole Daniels family.:N1yeeaah:

    glad to see leighton come to a decision. another cbc 2010 player to sign. he will be a big contributor to winthrop!!!

    now lets see where his brother goes!!!!

    Winthrop landed a great kid from a great family. You have to see Leighton play over the course of a season to really appreciate how talented he is. Along with talent this kid has tremendous baseball aptitude. He is a winner and Winthrop just stole one.

    I don't know the Daniels kid, but anytime a young man gets the opportunity to get a education and continue to play this wonderful game of baseball it makes me happy. I believe we play East Meck this year so Leighton if you want to miss that game to do some extra studying, you have my permission. Congrats to Leighton and the entire Daniels family. I know your parents are proud.
