    High School player evaluation and showcase for MVP Baseball's National Tournament Team start at 10 AM. All players need to arrive at 9:30 AM. MVP is looking for talented players to compete in PG National College Showcase Tournaments and the AZ Fall Classic Showcase Tournaments. The summer MVP teams will travel to Atlanta GA for the National Championships as well as Omaha Triple Crown Nebraska-College World Series. A parent must attend to learn about MVP and a college seminar will be at 10 PM for parents. Players must bring their own ice for arms and fluids.

    They had only eight players on hand.The game start time was delayed about an hour waiting for a ninth player that never arrived.It was a tough situation for both teams.

    Coach Jones asked all of his players PRIOR to committing to the tournament if they were willing to sacrifice a part of their Spring Break for this tournament. They ALL agreed. However, Spring Break rolled around and some of the parents decided not to honor the commitment to the baseball team. Coach Jones is an honorable man and is trying to change the "culture" at Hillside in terms of how baseball is perceived. Hopefully he will be allowed to accomplish his goal.

    I agree wholeheartedly... Coach Jones is teaching them to play the right way. Last year they played no nonconference games, this year he is trying to make them better. Heck they were defeated 24-2 in their last game of the season last year and went out and ran their poles as a disciplined unit. It is tough to change a "culture" no matter where you are adn I know that Coach Jones was embarassed by this.

    Unfortunately, the entire tournament had to be canceled due to the rain. Hopefully the Bobby Murray Tournament will have better weather!
