Batter got on base on Baylor's only hit (infield single), stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a sac. bunt.

Guess that torn ACL healed up pretty good.

    Special

Chelsea is one of those special kids that refuses to ever be defeated! She works hard, studies the game, and loves the challenges that the game and life bring her way! Hope she has a great season!

    And how about . . .

'Hummer' Glosson & Mo Childers? 10+ K's on opening day. . . . A great start for all these kids. I understand better than most that recruiting is a very personal experience but one wonders why many of NC's best seem to escape to other states.

Duke... I liken it to a game of chess.. your open pawn to king 4 and play thru the mid game. You position your pieces and your success or failure is incumbent for the most part on how good you are.

Then when you are end game ready all of a sudden you are switched to playing poker.. a new hand is dealt and those are your cards and you play 'em... a lot of it being out of your control. The outcome being based more on feel than facts.

Wherever NC kids are, lets keep up with 'em. Besides being interested as fans of the game, it helps give our current high school players motivation.

Seeing Chelsea in high school was like when I saw Raymond Felton in high school, you knew they were going straight to the top. Morgan Childer's career will be one for the record books. None of these folks were hidden. They were all very well known at a young age.

There are so many kids out there playing in college, it's almost impossible to keep up with them all. I know we have the Next Level forum, maybe we should have a Next Level thread to throw in tidbits from time to time. We have had a couple of freshmen playing and making early impact for their respective teams already, even though the weather has been horrible.

As far as where certain players wind up, I'm assuming they end up where they feel comfortable, and feel wanted by the coaches, the school, and the team. I guess sometimes a Coach spots what they are looking for, and performs their recruiting job well to get that player. When they end up with a gem, all the other folks can just sit around and say, "Where was I?". I don't think there is any exact science, just coaches out there looking for talent.

It's ALL, about finding a fit.
