The Charlotte Observer reported that Les is no longer coaching the MP Mustangs. He also gave up coaching with the Charlotte Legion team. I know a lot of people will miss him. Dodgerblues, Braves, anybody have any insight?

No insight at all. I spoke briefly to Coach Deming last night at the awards ceremony, but he didn't bring it up, so I wasn't going to. I suspect Coach Deming wants to spend more time with his two-year old son, and who can blame him for that?

All I know now is that Myers Park needs a new head man, and I sure hope we get the best one available.

I have some ideas myself..., but I'll hold off and share those with Coach Clewis! :supergrin

Do you have to be on staff to be a head coach?

I wish Les the best. Kids are fun at that age. I have a two year old niece who really cracks me up. She seems to like the soccer ball the best so far.

This has been rumored for a little while now. I suspect for the reasons already given. I know it had to be agonizing for Les to reach that decision because we just recently were talking about how much he looked forward to the JV players moving up. He is a friend and he will be missed in the HS circles.

At a time when most coaches want total control of a game, Les was the type to let the players be involved (to a point) and to allow them to have fun. He didn't care about wins/losses until conference time. This approached allowed him to play everybody and prepare them for the conference schedule. This was the reason that Myers Park always closed the second half of their season as strong contenders. Some people liked his approach and some didn't.....Personally, I loved the man
