It's normal not to announce them publically until after the last team in a conference has been eliminated from state competition. I don't know about telling a team internally.

I believe the last team from SW4A was eliminated last week...right? And Independence is not in the SW4A...right?

That wasent about Kevin. It just makes you mad when some teams have 7 and others 1 and there are players that have more errors this year that made it than your kid did in all 4 years. Offence might win games but errors lose them. I think our team proved that.

For the 1st time, Charlotte Observer allowed the Charlotte area coaches announce the selection of players from their team before the Observer posts it. The Observer will not post the All Conference selections until all Charlotte area teams' ( Indy) season is over.

To this date, any names that have been posted in here are merely speculation.

Although it's not a rule, it is an agreement between the paper and the coaches. But the Observer realized that many team's Sports Banquets would be over before the playoffs would probably finish. That's why they agreed to allow the coaches to tell their players before it was announced in the paper.

    Huh?

That is interesting because our coach did not tell our boys at their banquet! Would have been nice to have honored those athletes among their peers, but............

Nostradumass....thanks for straightening me out!! Please excuse me while I take my blinders off (nuf ced)!! From your (3 spot) perspective, I agree with you 1000%!! I don't know of any other 1B'man that deserves recognition beyond this board more than GG. In my speculative opinion (and that's all it is), he should have gotten it for the last 4 years!!!
