Let's talk about Hustle

I lost count of the number of times last week in the State Games when Kristen Krebs, Holly Springs HS, Region 3, was safe at 1st base on a "sure out" hit to the infield. She runs an all-out sprint to 1st every time; as she should.

What steps do you take when a player doesn't do this? Is this something you address one on one with the player or is this something you put on the whole team?

Is this something you demand even during practices with a lot of base running where there is no throw to the bases?
