    Thanks Coach May...

Both are great young men, both have excellent grades, both are very good pitchers... Different tools/styles but both effective.

Both play for the Copperheads this fall Wrenn (Black Team) and Tolley (Red Team). They have had excellent falls. I will gladly speak with anybody that wants to discuss them.

    Thank you!

Daniel does work hard, and I appreciate the fact that others have recognized that and acknowledged the results of it. Thanks again for the kind words.

Michael Melton: East Rutherford High School. Low to mid 80's fb from a deceptive arm-slot with excellent offspeed, movement, and control far beyond his years. Thrown up zeros against impressive teams all summer for the South Charlotte Panthers... Can swing the stick as well

    Michael Melton

Great young man and baseball player. Great family. The school that gets Michael gets a great player. Can't believe he is still available. His instructor and former coach, Shane Spears said that Michael always got the toughest assignment on the mound when it counted most and he NEVER let him down.

    Michael Melton

There are loads of very talented 07's in NC who will bowl you over with their tools, but if I was selecting a team expressly to win games, Michael Melton would be on it. If I was selecting a team of NC players who had the best combo of talent and academics, Michael Melton would be on it. If I was selecting a team of NC players with best best attitude, Michael Melton would be on it.
On the mound, he is NC high school's equivalent of Robert Woodard (UNC career record 23-3). Neither pitcher lights up the radar, they just win with unmatched preparation and committment.

I don't believe Michael will be unsigned very much longer. It's not like he has gone unnoticed....plus...he is from a baseball hot spot...East Rutherford, baby!!!!

I wonder if Michael is from Forest City. If he is that solidifies it...Forest City has that special drinking water...just like Caldwell County. If Michael could get his FB up in the high 80's...he would be up at UNC with the rest of his buddies  ...hmm...stay tuned

You would think high 80's would not necessarily be a requirement for Coach Fox. Watching Woodard pitch in the shadow of Miller and Bard for three years had to be an eye-opener. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, but I like to see variety on a pitching staff.

007- when Robert was being recruited, he was throwing 90 in HS. I agree with your thoughts, but let's don't kid ourselves...UNC is not going to sign a pitcher throwing mid 80's no matter how smart (pitching wise) one is.

Another one from Butler High School

Hunter Glass - 3b/utility player that has excellent defensive tools. Great range, very solid glove and strong arm. Smart hitter with all-fields ability. Playing this fall for Freddy Suggs and Coach Tarlton on the Copperhead Black team.

Joe Manser, a smart ballplayer, a total team player with a great glove and hits for average. Check out personal website at: http://www.manserbaseball.com
