Not sure if anyone knew that the Little League World Series in Portland, Oregon was one espn2. Quite a step for fastpitch softball.

I watched a little bit of the 1st game and I was kind of in shock that they were clocking the pitcher from the philipines and 64 mph.

    youth softball on TV

yes, I watched that little phillipino girl pitch & she could really hum it . the catcher could barely get her glove up in time on high pitches. she was slightly wild, but only gave up one run to the US East team.

also, did ya'll hear about a girl on the US East team (was mgr's daughter) that was suspended for that world series semi-final game due to unsportsmanlike conduct for a uniform violation. apparently she rolled up her shorts in some way and was warned to change it , but chose to ignore the warning. at least that's the way it was explained by the TV announcers.

Ever been involved in girls softball when they took the drastic action of ejecting or suspending a player for uniform violation? I've seen a few warnings.

Anyway, it's great to see this level of youth softball on TV. enjoyed watching it. I think the championship game is on Thur. night , Conn. vs. Va., played in Portland, Oregon. The Conn. team is US East and the suspended girl will be back in the lineup. The Va. team is US South.
