yes, I noticed that too. the ump in the intern. ch. game had a rediculous strike zone; the batters didn't stand a chance, & late in the game Mexico was swinging at a lot of balls out of the SZ out of frustration. I was hoping that Mex would complete the rally in that last inning, but was not to be after Japan brought its ace in.

I also thought the strikezone in the Mex/Japan game was ridiculous, those hitters could'nt touch some of those pitches that were called strikes. And the announcers kept referring to the ump rewarding pitchers for hitting his spots, but my goodness it still needs to be close. I saw a lot of catchers setting up outside and still having to backhand balls that were called strikes, in fact I actually laughed at a couple called strikes. Unfortunately it wasn't funny, because those players deserved better. They had worked too hard to get to that game, only to have an umpire take the bat out of their hands like that.

Everyone agrees that these kids are good, I just think the umpire should be making them throw balls over the plate. Ok I'm finished, I wasn't going to say anything about the "blue", but since others did, thats my 2 cents.

Btw, great game by both teams, would've loved to seen a better called game to see if the outcome would've been any different, who knows the margin may have been wider,,, we simply won't know.

I thought that umpire was terrific. He had a great strike zone...hmmm...I wonder if he can do college games

The championship game between Japan and GA is going to go into extras at 0-0. It's gonna be determined by the #2 pitchers
