And the fact that you showed faith and confidence in the kid will just reinforce the "turning around". Don't be surprised if 10 years down the road you don't get a tap on the shoulder and turn around to get a big thank you from a kid that has become successful in life.

    good call

i also over-heard the coach from Illinois trashing the Georgia team after they handed them their only loss of the tournament. Illinois was eliminated the next day. i loved it.
those Georgia kids didnt even know how to celebrate. how cool was it to see that. my wife and i just looked at each other. she was crying along with the players.

    Thanks EastOfRaleigh

Appreciate the link to the Little League pitch count info. Looks promising.

Also really enjoyed reading the info about Carter, I too am old school and don't like the sideways hats, etc. but this kid sure reminds us all to be less judgemental of appearance for sure.

Sure makes you feel good to see kids that act like Kyle Carter and the rest of the Georgia crew did.

Great article! Was not aware that this happened. These are the kind of stories that our writers should be focusing on a little more.

Did anyone notice that when Illinois was eliminated, a kid during the last inning didn't run out an overthrown ball then threw his helmet in disgust on the field? Ironic after the Illinois coaches comments about Georgia.

Also, didn't understand the Japan kids crying before the last out against Georiga. They had the tying run in scoring position for goodness sake.

I did not see much of the LLWS but did happen to catch part of one game. The annoucners were talking about the Carter kid and his cap. They said that at some point in his early life he had to have a shunt inserted into his head and could not wear a cap in the normal style but had to turn it slightly. He got used to it and continued to wear it this way. He seemed like an ok kid what I saw that game.

    yow

did not catch that information. just more reason not to jump to conclusions such as how a kid wears his uniform.
