in my opinion, until leadership changes are maded from top to bottom in NCASA, alot of things will not change! Tony Law does a great job in the Burlington Area!!

In my opinion if the girl is good they will come and see her no matter what team she is on. What a tournament coach thinks is not a good player sometimes will back fire and turn out to be a D-1 player or on the USA softball team. Look at Crysti Bustos she went to a Commuity College in FL and made the USA team you can always find a diamond in the ruff even on a no so elite team.
I think as a coach you never go not turning over every stone because you will never know what you might find under the stone.
You see if you work hard and set your mind to it you can do anything that you set out to do in life. Crysti Bustos dream came true.

They will come and see a player. This is true. But, if they are a D-1 school or upper D-2 then they will want to see that player competing against the same players that the other schools are recruiting. Not knowing the background of Crysti Bustos, there can be many reasons that a ball player goes to play community college ball. Most of the time its not talent necessarily but grades that dictate that path. There are tournaments for all players. You as a coach have to determine what your teams chemistry make up is going to be and then schedule around that. Again I am curious as to what 18U teams are folding.

U may be right if they know she exist! For every diamond in the rough story, there are many good players that are seen but not given scholarships. With the proper "sales job" and contacts, those girls would be playing college ball. If the travel coach and the player have e-mailed the coaches and let them know where they will be and when and the coaches attend that tournament, she may get seen. Since U have attended many showcase tournaments U know there are usually 24 to 120 teams at these events, 12 players per team, 288 to 1440 girls, I would say slim odds of a kid getting seen if the contacts were not made prior to attending. Never underestimate the power of pre-preparation,winning . and attending the right events. I have helped many girls outside the Blues organization get seen and I know U as well as others have done the same. This organization that has been kicked around could really blossom into a group that supports all the NC players and increase our hit rate for college scholarships. RET :mushy:

Good post, And I also have helped girls outside of the Comets.
We all have the same ideals helping all the girls out there and it's not just 1 or 2 organization that helps them it's of of us that helps.

I said U had helped others as well as many other organizations had helped others outside their groups. I am not by any means blowing my horn as if the Blues are the only ones that have great players and teams. There are many that come on this site and many more that do not that have been and will remain successful. The Comets have been around for years, long before me or the Blues. Keep up your wonderful success. RET :applause:
