Looking for a pitching coach/instructor for 13 yr old

    Looking for pitching coach/instructor for 13 yr old. He pitches now for middle school and plays travel ball. Catawba, Iredell, Alexander or any referrences for surrounding counties would be appreciated. Thanks

    Frank Pait, former Head Coach at Lenoir Rhyne and now at Catawba Valley, is plugged into everything baseball related in your area. He's an outstanding man that would be willing to help in providing that information.

    There is a facility in mooresville called benchwarmers. Jeremy Johnson is a quality instructor, pitched several years of professional ball. Great with young men.

    All kidding aside - and NO sarcasm...

    Get the young man long throwing.
    Look into a "PT" type person to develop a stretching regimen.
    Forget paying someone $__ per week to do pens with him.

    Finally, though I don't know a lot about the following guy - in particular as I am not from Charlotte area, but have seen him speak, and WOW - but in terms of "PT type person" (as mentioned above) Alan Tyson of Architech Sports is one name. Google it. Either way, don't just fall prey to being taught how to throw 3 pitches in an indoor pen, and repeating that over and over week after week.

    From what I have read catcoach has a great and realistic approach to what us best for baseball and the kids(and your wallet)

    One of the things that makes catcoach replies informative is his perspective from a coach and parent's view.

    Brian Harvey in Catawba county would be a great option but I am not sure if he is still working with players. He had a indoor facility with mounds and cages. Learned a lot from him when I was playing. It's also really cool to work with a guy that used to play in the MLB.
