Looks like Draughn High School

    will participate in the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A conference in all sports but football for the 2008-2009 season! They have tentatively scheduled at this time 4-5 varsity football games with schools from this conference who had open dates. Hopefully, Draughn can schedule 5-7 more varsity games with schools who have open dates at this time. I guess for one year Draughn will be like a college team who comes into a new conference but can't compete for a championship during the first year. I believe the Southern Piedmont teams consist of:

    Lincolnton
    East Lincolnton
    West Lincolnton
    North Lincolnton
    Bessemer City
    Cherryville
    Highland Tech
    Challenger

    So in all other sports they will play ALL these teams but cannot win conf.?
    Will they have a chance for post season play?

    I would think

    they could compete for championships in all other sports.
